Snyderskloof Karoo Cottage is a cozy dwelling built from stone collected from the veld. It is situated on a secluded, completely private area on a farm 24km from Matjiesfontein in the Succulent Karoo
Karoo tranquility
The self catering karoo cottage has 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. It can sleep 6 people in total as there are also two extra single beds in the lounge.
The bedrooms are beautifully decorated. Crisp white linen, bath towels and hot water bottles are provided. Please bring your own swimming towels.
The bathroom is fitted with a gas geyser for a hot shower with a view over the mountains.
The open plan kitchen/dining room is equipped with a two plate gas stove, gas fridge with a freezer compartment and all necessary cooking and dining utensils complete with picnic basket and flask.
The lounge has a built in fireplace/braai and opens up onto a wooden deck overlooking the outside lapa and swimming pool with a magnificent Karoo view.
There is no electricity, oil lamps and candles provide light.
Fresh water is supplied from a bore hole but if preferred bring your own bottled water for drinking.

At Snyderskloof Karoo Cottage we offer a restful getaway, but be sure to pack the following:
Hiking boots for walks in the kloofs or up the mountain
Binoculars for viewing small game and bountiful birdlife
Mountain bikes for a cycle to a Matjiesfontein breakfast or many other dirt roads to be explored
Your headlamp for reading at night
Fire wood for your braai or cosy indoor fires in winter

R350 per day per additional guest

Deposit required:
50% to be paid within 48 hours of the booking. The outstanding balance to be paid 1 week prior of arrival.
Cancellations within 14 days of occupation is not refundable.
bright starry nights
To make a booking, firstly select your desired dates. You can do this by clicking on the dates directly on the calendar. You can only select available open dates (green). Then complete the Booking Form after your dates have been selected. Complete your details, choose the number of people and press Send.
magnificent views
Snyderskloof Matjiesfontein Karoo Cottage GPS Co-ordinates south 33˚ 04’ 44,6” East 020˚ 25’ 16.3” From Cape Town you get onto the N1 and just keep on going straight for ± 250km. At the Matjiesfontein turn off, turn left. Drive ± 50 meters and turn left onto the Keurkloof gravel road. Keep going straight on the gravel road for ±15.8km, keeping an eye out for motor gates and animals that cross the road. Turn right after ±15.8km at the Snyderskloof turn off, if arriving at night, keep an eye out for the reflectors on the sign. Now just keep on going straight
for the last 9km till you reach your destination.
The gravel road is in good condition but we strongly advice you to come with relatively more ground clearance than on a normal car.
Please keep the closed gates closed and the open gates open. Lastly please drive slow and safe, especially at night.
